Painting Downtown Buildings
Painting Downtown Buildings

Painters and other contractors face unique challenges when having to paint downtown office buildings, condos, or houses. Getting to the job-site and dealing with everyday traffic makes one appreciate the everyday challenges couriers or cab drivers are facing daily.

And let’s not forget the usual winter storms, or summer construction.
Toronto house painters have to find a parking space close enough to the house, to make loading and unloading paints and equipment easier. Driveway space is usually limited and used by the customer’s car. After street parking is found, cars have to be constantly checked and moved to avoid getting parking tickets.
Condo and loft painting in Toronto presents different challenges. Most buildings do not have sufficient contractor or visitor parking. Loading and unloading sometimes means dropping off supplies at the side or front of the building, or even the sidewalk and park somewhere further down the road.
An alternative is getting paint and supplies delivered to the site and some paint stores offer that service.
Toronto Commercial Painters have similar problems, magnified by the fact that the building they are painting may be in a very busy intersection in the downtown core. Transporting supplies and equipment sometimes has to happen through busy lobbies and busy elevators as arranging freight elevator time is not as practical.
Painting retail stores in malls is interesting. For example, parking under the Eaton’s centre. and transporting a “shop” to the store to be painted was interesting. Very soon you realize that there is a community of cleaners, security guards, maintenance and other contractors and they all do their thing their way late at night. They need to, as choices in production operations are very few.

Sure, we can paint the town red, green, pink, purple, blue, orange, yellow, beige….any colour,
as soon as we can get to it.
